Tough Times: Next Media Fires Over 50 Employees

Next media services that consists of more than three television and one radio station has laid off 60 employees at once. This happened yesterday 30th November 2022 as the month ended.

The company started with NBS television six years ago but they have been expanding to other television stations for both sports, entertainment, religion and other programs.

A statement was released on social media showing that more than 50 employees that include news anchors, producers, reporters, editors and presenters are not going to be working with them beginning December 2022.

According to the statement, the board wasn’t happy laying off the workers. However, they revealed that they had nothing to do other than that.

The reason behind the firing of these workers wasn’t revealed anywhere but we are still digging deep into the matter.

“After a lengthy deliberation and consideration on this process, the management and Board have had to make a difficult decision to have some transformers step down from their roles effective Wednesday 30th November 2022,

With the ever evolving global trends and media consumption habits, our business needs to continue effectively serving its consumers, partners, and stakeholders. We believe now is the best time to realign and act towards remaining relevant in our highly competitive environment.

On behalf of everyone, our Board and myself would like to thank all leaving us. We are grateful for their journey with us. And the foundations they have laid to make Next Media the brand it is today. We wish them great success in the future,” The statement read.
