Twitter Goes Ablaze Over Evelyn Anite’s Loss in NRM Primaries

Twitter has been on fire since the declaration of Hon. Evelyn Anite’s defeat in the National Resistance Movement Primaries. Mrs Everlyn Anite was defeated by Charles Ayume, the district official. These two were going head to head to represent the party for a sit in Parliament for Koboko Municipality.

Her supporters carried her to the polling station. She later lost to her opponent.

Hon. Evelyn Anite became so famous during the time of ‘ Togikwatako‘ since she was so vocal and totally behind the movement. She is mostly remembered by her statement ‘ we have the Majje’ she became really infamous and a public ridicule due to the atmosphere at that time. Anite before, the party elections was so sure about her victory calming that Koboko is on her side.

Hon. Evelyn is not the only one

Evelyn is not the only big dog that has been slayed off her site. The Minister of Ethics, Simon Lokodo was also defeated in Dodoth by Baatom Ben Koryang. Time will tell however but one thing that will not be forgotten is how violent these primaries were.

These have been one of the most if not the most violent elections in years especially because they were primaries. People lost lives during campaigns. Members of parliament fought and some came off with injuries. Evelyn also commented on this.

“They beat and threatened my supporters. And that is why I lost.” The minister said.

Twitter scribes didn’t believe her, they had a field day making fun of her.

One thing is for sure though, the celebration on social media over her defeat speaks a lot of volumes about what the nation has at heart.
