This was the long awaited day for most patriotic football lovers within the pearl of Africa that have been praying for so long to qualify for the African Cup of Nations.
Uganda finished second in Group D though head to head with Burkina Faso as you can see below

Uganda Cranes made the Africa Cup of Nations grade for the first since 1978 following a 1-0 over Comoros at Namboole Stadium on Sunday evening.

Burkina Faso, who defeated Botswana 2-1, topped the group with the same number of points but had a better head-to-head record. Cranes qualified for the tournament due next year in Gabon as the best group runners-up.
Almost the 43,000 fans present including the first lady Janet Kataha Museveni and many millions more in the suburbs and favelas of the CECAFA’s best footballing nation exhaled a cry of exultation, of gratitude, but especially of relief after decades of near misses.
