Being the CECAFA champions would have been a better threat for cranes opponents in the Group D but it didn’t actually matter for the opponents in Group D.

At the 47th minute Zimbabwe scored its first goal in the CHAN tournament against Uganda cranes and Uganda crane’s substitute Serukuma Geofrey netted Uganda’s goal in the added three minutes as the game ended which lead to 1-1 draw.

Even though Zimbabwe put a tough match against cranes, it also had to see the portal out of CHAN leaving Mali and Zambia to go through to the quarter final.
