The Bwolonda singer said that he’s so glad that the market abroad has embraced his new song, Webale.
He went ahead to use fellow singer Kenzo as a yardstick to measure his success. Evans said that his song is trending at number three just behind Kenzo’s new song Keke.
He further said that competing with Kenzo is a dream because the Big Talent boss has been the undisputed king of Ugandan music for the past 10 years.
“I’m so glad that the whites have embraced my song. I have been singing for long but this is the first song that has crossed borders. It’s in fact rivalling Kenzo’s banger, Keke. So after dancing to Keke, they listen to Webale. Uganda has now got another international star in me. In fact, I’m soon getting Kenzo off the top spot. He’s been Uganda’s biggest locally and internationally for the past 10 years and I respect him so much,” Evans said.
When they asked if he’s only working to topple Kenzo, Evans said that it’s not the case. He however said that this will tighten up the competition at the top and remove the weekend singer’s monopoly.
