The celebrations are going to be aired on TV stations for those who want to commemorate this day. A few people have been invited to attend in person and whoever has no card is not allowed to go to the premises. Uganda Martyr’s Day is a highly celebrated day in East Africa. People always walk to Namugogo to remember the men who died in the name of the Lord.
Celebrations are going to be both at the catholic and Anglican church. Unlike the previous years, the Anglican church has also become more intentional when it comes to celebrating this day. The Anglican church has been lagging behind when it comes to recognizing this day and yet most of the martyrs who died were Anglicans.
The pandemic has changed a lot of things in just a short time. Celebrations are just no longer the same. People are always waiting for this day and they start trekking from far places in the middle of May. Perhaps when the pandemic is gone, things will get back t normal. People will have the freedom they once enjoyed.
