Police spokesperson, Kituuma Rusoke has revealed that after interviewing the 14-year-old victim in a defilement case surrounding a Hajj, her statement corroborates with Hajjat Zura’s allegations. Zura a few weeks ago alleged that her ex-husband defiled her 14-year-old daughter.
The police say that the young girl accused only one person of defiling her, and that was Hajji. Even the medical report they performed shows that indeed this young girl was raped.
It’s therefore unfortunate to see that bloggers are bringing other versions of stories to divert the facts according to Rusooke.
Rusooke added that they compiled their fact findings and handed them over to the DPP. Therefore if these bloggers believe that their evidence is correct, they should find a way to bring it so that it is added to the file.
However, there is no way the government is going to get the evidence from social media. He added that there could be chances that the Hajji is being implicated in a crime he didn’t commit.
Read Rusoke’s statement below;
“About the Hajjati Zura’s and Hajji’s case, we completed the file and handed it to the DPP. We interviewed the girl who maintained that it was Hajji who defiled her. Even the medical report we performed showed that indeed she was raped. Since then, different versions of the case have been flying across social media from different bloggers.”
“I want to urge all these bloggers to gather their evidence and present it to us so that it can be added to the file. There could be a possibility that Hajji is innocent and is being accused of someone else’s crime,” Rusooke said.
