Uganda Police Promoted Common Wealth Participants With Ranks

With regards from the Inspector General of Police, Martin Okoth Ochola yesterday afternoon promoted the Uganda police athletes who represented Uganda at the Gold Coast Common Wealth Games, Australia.

Uganda police rewarded and promoted Common Wealth participants.

SPC Joshua Cheptegei won two gold medals in 5000 and 10000 metres, and has been regraded to the police constable and then appointed to the rank of Inspector of Police and added a token of 10 million Shillings.

Another one, special Police Constable, Stella Chesang won a gold medal in 10000 metres women rally, and was also re-graded to Police Constable and appointed to the rank of Inspector of Police also with a token of five millions.

Chelengat Mercyline who too won a bronze medal in 10000 metres, was also re-graded to the rank of police constable and appointed to the rank of Assistant Inspector of police.

  • SPC Chemonges Robert was re-graded to the rank of police constable and given a token 1 million.
  • SPC Ayikoru Scovia was re-graded to the rank of police constable (PC).
  • SPC Shida Leni has been re-graded to the rank of Police Constable and given a token of one million.
  • SPC Lalam Josephine has re-graded to the rank of Police Constable and given one million shilling.
  • ASP Kiwa Faustino was given a token of two million shilling.
  • SPC Njia Benjamin has been re-graded to the rank of police constable appointed to the rank of inspector of police and given a token of two million shilling.
    However, in his remarks, Okoth Martin clearly said that
“In these days of adversity, I’m certainly that you endured the deepest pain to reach the current success, but you never sacrificed your deepest values. Despite the entire struggle, you didn’t fail the Uganda police force, the country and the continent. You have the full support of the UPF and I stand here to promise, commit and endorse that, you have climbed to the top you should be proud of yourself great jobbut aim higher”.Okoth happily said.

Interestingly, the IGP gave a double cabin pick up to these athletes to assist in their journeys while training in Sebei region.
