Besides there will be no exam fees and 120 schools will be built in 2022. There will also be sanitary pads for all girls and huge budget allocated to the education sector.
Now, imagine finding President Museveni’s or any other President’s social media comment section flocked by foreigners heaping praise on his policies and decrying theirs.
Well, it was the case in the comment section of Zambian president Hakainde Hichilema’s Twitter page as Ugandans admired his education policy.
“Our position on Education? No school fees. No exam fees. 120 new schools in 2022. Increased teachers’ salaries. 30,000 new teachers. Free sanitary pads for girls in GRZ schools. Over K18Bn budget in our 1st year,” he tweeted.
This saw Ugandans flock the Twitter page with compliments than they shower their own President.
“Zambians are so lucky. Uganda is still stuck with one president since 1986 and everything is hell.”
“Someone promised free sanitary pads to school girls in my country but we are yet to receive them more than five years later. Leaders like you make me want to denounce my citizenship. You are a true leader not these pretenders in my country. God bless you son of God.”
“In Uganda, once you request what they promise you, they either imprison you or you get killed. But thanks to puting #zambia first.”
Apparently, President Hakainde is a friend to Ugandan Opposition politician, Bobi Wine. Hakainde is one of the newest crop of leaders on the Continent who won the incumbent , Edgar Lungu.
They had invited Bobi Wine to the swearing in ceremony of Hakainde but never made it. This was after being blocked politically.
