Ugandans On Social Media Verses Celebrities, A Game Of Forced Allegiance

There is a social media belief that everyone should engage verbally in all activities that are going on there. In all honesty, however right the cause may be, it’s just wrong for you to think everyone must agree with you. Many people, especially celebrities have fallen victim to this vice. You will find people dragging someone in the mad just because they have decided to be quiet on certain issues.

This even got worse during the heated political atmosphere. Everyone wanted celebrities on their side. One thing you must know is that just like us, celebrities also have their own choices to make. Just because they are famous doesn’t mean they will jump on every train of whatever is happening in the country. Now because of such things, some socialites actually take advantage to shine, appearing as if they care about the people.

Case in point;

Recently, people have been attacking TV personality, Faridah Nakazibwe for apparently keeping silent about the so called violence. They said she is vocal in senseless matters and yet numb about ongoing issues. Before we go there, do you know that her platforms are totally hers and she is not entitled to take part in every thing even when you need her to.

Why would you get abusive when someone is not on your side, it shows that you too actually need help and are one of those things affecting this country. If you need someone to be on your side, diplomatically make them believe what you believe in probably they will understand your cause. Stop making people feel like they are indebted to you, that is bullying.
