Ugandans Pay Tribute The Late Ambassador Katsigazi

Tributes have been paid to Ambassador Christopher Katsigazi, the former Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign affairs. He succumbed to cancer at Nsambya Hospital on Thursday, September 30, at the age of 84.

One of the prominent citizens who paid tribute to the fallen ambassador was Special Presidential Assistant on Political Affairs, Hon. Naava Nabagesera. She described the deceased as a highly knowledgeable diplomat.

‘’He was a living encyclopedia of wisdom and information. He was well-endowed with knowledge about global politics and current affairs. Surely the country is going to miss him dearly,’’ she said.

A resident of Nakasozi Budo zone in Wakiso District where the ambassador lived, Ponny Lukwago described him as a peaceful man.

Ponny said Katsigazi loved people regardless of their religion, social status, political or ethnic affiliation.

Furthermore, Rebecca Mbekeka Katsigazi, the wife to the deceased described him as a lovely husband of wonderful attributes.

She said he loved her, their family, and their children as well in a way that surpassed human understanding.

‘’If I had another chance, I would marry him again,’’ she said.

A number of people also took turns to say something as they bid farewell to a public figure.

They will lay his body to rest in Kyetsika Ndeija, Rwampara district on Tuesday, October 5.

They have organized a memorial service for the deceased at All Saints Cathedral, Kampala on Monday, October 4, starting at 9:00 am.
