This comes after govenment released a COVID-19 list of the vulnerable people who will receive help from the government.
Government will give out a package of Ugx 100,000 to the different categories that it identified as vulnerable.
This is to help them offset the effects brought about by the 42-day national lockdown.
As different factions come out to help people that fall in their jurisdiction, UMA has followed suit.
While addressing journalists, musicians Big Eye and Renah Nalumansi told musicians that they needed to come and update their details with UMA.
“All that government needs from these musicians is their NIN number plus their mobile money number. They have to make sure the name on the national ID is the one that their mobile money number displays. We have been asked by the Prime Minister’s office to deliver the details. Even if you have not been registered with us, we can forge a way forward.” Big Eye said flanked by Renah.
However, there is fear among different groups that once government released this money, to some leaders, they will swindle it.
There is still skepticism about how government will execute this huge task at hand without severe complications.
People have even already grown disgruntled about the delay of the money.
This is because the lockdown has already started counting and no help as of yet.
