UPDF Denies Accusations of Running over Bobi Wine’s Bodyguard

There have been multiple accusations that the Uganda People’s Defense Forces ran over Bobi Wine’s bodyguard on Sunday. However, the UPDF has denied all of these accusations and claimed that the late fell off a speeding car to his death.

The deceased was Francis Kalibala Ssenteza who was one of Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu’s bodyguards.

‘’UPDF would like to clarify that the late Ssenteza was not knocked by a military police vehicle as earlier purported, but rather fell off a speeding car registration number UBF 850G.’’ UPDF spokesperson Brig. Flavia Byekwaso said in a statement.

The NUP party flag bearer, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu said a UPDF van registration number H4DF 2382 knocked down the late. He said this happened as his convoy drove journalist Ashraf Kasirye from Masaka to Kampala for further medical attention.

Ashraf sustained injuries during the scuffle between NUP supporters and the police in Masaka.

After the incident, they rushed Bobi Wine’s bodyguard to the hospital where the doctors did everything they could but failed to revive him due to his severe injuries. He sadly passed away later on Sunday evening at Rubaga hospital.
