UPDF FC Need The Win Against Bright Stars Today

The only league game to be played today will see UPDF FC hosting the Soltilo Bright Stars. The Army boys will be looking to register a win for some good points to push them away from relegation.

Therefore, they are left with no room for error against the Bright Stars.

UPDF FC sits on edge with only 12 points, and only a 1-goal difference separates them from Blacks Power. Blacks power is currently occupying the second relegation spot.

The Army side, however, will have to go into the game without their star player Rogers Mugisha. Rogers at the moment is away in Egypt with the national team.

Regardless of Rogers’ absence, UPDF has the firepower to overcome the challenge as they have Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Ezekiel Katende.

To flip the coin on this one, Bright Stars will displace Wakiso Giants who sit in the fifth place if they win today’s game. They currently sit sixth with 24 points, only two away from the Purple Sharks who have played one more game.

The Bright Stars will have more of their hope placed in Emmanuel Loki, Nelson Ssenkatuka and Ibrahim Kasinde.

An important note to remember is each team has won two of their last ten meetings with the rest ending in draws. The reverse fixture ended in a 1-1 draw at Kavumba Recreation Ground.
