KCCA FC has managed to milk the 3 points they needed out of BUL FC as Allan Okello’s first-half penalty gave them the win at Phillip Omoding stadium. He scored the penalty in the 36th minute following a foul play on him by BUL’s Walter Ochoa in the box.
Prior to KCCA’s goal, BUL had dominated the entire game in possession but the finishing touches were still lacking a bit.
When the second half started, BUL had all the great looks but KCCA defenders, Geoffrey Wasswa, Brian Majwega and Mustafa Mujjuzi said no entry. They had a great game and made sure their goalkeeper, Benjamin Ochan did not see any trouble.
In the 73rd and 80th minutes, Ochan made two fine saves to deny BUL’s dangerous substitutes Anthony Mayanja and Ibrahim Mugulusi any goal. When these two were introduced to the game, it gave KCCA a real scare but that is all it was.
Charles Ssenyange, KCCA’S assistant coach showed his gratitude for the resilience his players displayed in their fight to guard the three points.
“At this stage, three points mean everything. It doesn’t matter how you have played,” Ssenyange said.
He said he liked the result very much and added that they can build from there for their next two games that they really need to win.
Ssenyange took charge of the team for the second time in the game as head coach Jackson Mayanja is serving a two-match-ban.
