Unfortunately, by the time he sat there, he wasn’t wearing a mask because it was a much smaller meeting they were in. He suspects, however, that the vaccine in some way made contracting this virus impossible.
“I was in Kigali for #CHOGM2022, and I almost got #COVID-19. I put on my mask for the main meeting, but when we went for the smaller meeting, I relaxed and removed my mask, yet the person I was seated next to had COVID-19. When I returned, I self-isolated from Ntugamo for five days. I was tested and found to be negative. I wasn’t affected, and I think it’s because of the vaccines.”
The President was in all this trying to show the benefits of getting vaccinated. According to the program, that is being made, children between the age of 12 and 17 are going to be vaccinated.
This will however be with the consent of their parents. He took the opportunity to encourage parents to allow their children to get vaccinated because it’s for their own good. Due to this, he directed Ministers to sensitize the people about vaccination.
“I have directed the Prime Minister to work out a schedule for Ministers to go and sensitize the people about the #COVID19 vaccines like we did with the Parish Development Model.”
