Virtual Kabaka Birthday Run Set For Tomorrow

The annual Kabaka Birthday run is set for tomorrow, however, just like last year, it is virtual. People will participate but from their homes or in very small groups unlike the usual coming together in groups.

This year’s run just like last year will be held under the theme “Men for Good Health and Ending AIDS by 2030” In the previous years, it’s been about fistula and indeed a great job has been done.

Still this time round, Buganda Kingdom has partnered with Airtel Uganda their long-time sponsor and partner. A number of people have given for this cause and partnered in various ways.

All the proceedings from this run usually go for the given cause of the run. This time round, the cause being fighting AIDs, all the funds will go towards that.

The Katikiro, Charles Peter Mayiga appreciated Airtel for being consistent in their partnership. Airtel has stood with Buganda, for now, eight years.

“We appreciate Airtel’s support over the years to the Kingdom and the entire country. We believe the contribution towards the run will greatly support in the fight against HIV/AIDS.”

The Kabaka will flag off the Kabaka Birthday Run participants officially. Unfortunately, these are not the usual birthday runs where people gather in large numbers due to Covid.

Hopefully, next year things will be better because the President promised to open the economy in January 2022.
