We Didn’t Disown Our Brother – Tamale Mirundi’s Elder Son Speaks

The eldest son of the late Tamale Mirundi has spoken about what really happened in the family for one of the famous brothers Tamale Junior to be disowned by the elders in the family and clan.

He said as the children, they had no say in the decision whatsoever. They didn’t agree or disagree with what happened.

Last week, the family of the late Tamale Mirundi had a meeting with the Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga. The main aim was to apologize on behalf of the late for the wrongs he did to the Buganda kingdom.

Their meeting and the apologies were publicized and Tamale Junior wasn’t happy with how it went. He also said that he felt that they had betrayed his father and personally, he wasn’t informed about the meeting like the other children they showed up.

According to the elder son Tamale John, he is aware that Junior was informed by the mother. They also talked about it in the family WhatsApp group.

He further explained that the decision of the elders was based on how he abused those who went to apologize to the Buganda kingdom. Even when he was called in the meeting, he was still disrespectful and not remorseful .

“Tamale Junior was disowned by the family due to disrespectful comments he made on social media about us and our name. Us children, we didn’t disown him. The decision was made by the elders,” he said.
