“I want to assure the public that there is no crisis in NUP. Our party is not only the strongest in Uganda but also the youngest political party in the world, therefore it has to face a lot of challenges, especially from the naysayers. Like in all organisations, people must differ in ideologies. We are not a nursery where everything that comes to NUP must be accepted, no, we discuss these ideas because we must be informed by the mindset that we are working for people.”
He however said they are proud of Kyagulanyi as their party president. Mufumbiro says they gave him a task to unmask the dictatorship and he has done that.
“He is the first MP to have left the comfort zone of being in parliament and then come to run against dictatorship.”
In his opinion, people should give more focus on the good things that the party is doing. Some people agreed with him saying in a democratic dispensation, differences in opinion is healthy because they make the party stronger. However, some people said this so be tested in 2026.
“Give it time bro, you wanna swallow your own words towards 2026. Now where is the strength and power you are talking about based on clear country wide research. Truth be told, you are weakened already within yourselves and you are not yet,” a one Kamwesigwa Emma said.
