We Haven’t Approved Covilyce – NDA To Gulu University

The National Drug Authority has warned Gulu University against supplying its new herbal drug, Covilyce. Gulu University produced Covilyce and even though National Drug Authority refused to approve it, Gulu residents want it on sale already.

The NDA said until they approve it, no one should bring it to the market.

“NDA has not approved this product, it shouldn’t be on the market and the innovators have been warned. They confirmed this product is still under lab research and tests,” the authority stated.

National Drug Authority has said currently it knows nothing about Covilyce. Regardless of the pressure from residents of Gulu, NDA has decided to stand its ground on this.

Meanwhile, Gulu University’s faculty of Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Studies (PharmBiotec), said it needs financial assistance to produce large quantities of their Covid-19 herbal treatments.

Apparently, there have been about 70 herbal treatment samples that were on test. However, lockdown interrupted this process yet they want to continue with it.

The Uganda National Drug Authority has just approved Covidex as a support medication for Covid. Though at first, NDA didn’t really express interest in it up until people were testifying of its miraculous work.

It went through the process and got the NDA mark. We don’t know if it will be the same case with Covilyce.
