Sheila Kawamara, a woman activist says people need to move on from the colonial thinking of qualifications. She said this regarding Uganda Airlines’ CEO.
According to her, for as long as someone is delivering, why should their education level matter in any way. Sheila revealed that she was at first skeptical about the airline but then she used it and was proven wrong.
“I was also very skeptical about Uganda Airlines until I took a flight on it. I decided to use the Airline when I am traveling around East Africa. Me, I am into performance. We need to move away from the colonial thinking of qualifications. I know a number of people with various academic achievements, but I wouldn’t recommend them for any job.” Sheila Kawamara said.
Sheila added that sometimes when investigations like this (Uganda Airlines) are going on, people are hyped up and become vindictive.
The guns are quickly shifted from the Airline, which is the real issue to Jennifer Bamuturaki. However, she reminded no one ever interviewed revolutionaries but they have led the country for 35years now.
However, former journalist, Onapito Ekomoloit says when it comes to running an airline, only the best should be lined up.
“You need to bring the best in class from anywhere in the world to run an airline. It’s a mafia world of its own. We are getting back to the same story, and I don’t think the Airline has a very bright future. It’s going to struggle.”
