We Shall Not Give You Money, NRM Independents Warned

The National Resistance Movement authorities have warned their members standing as NRM Independents that they shall not receive financial support. These members failed to make it through the NRM primaries that were held just recently ahead of the 2021 elections.

The NRM Independents were unsatisfied with the results and actually most of them said the votes were rigged.

It should however be remembered that ballots were not cast because elections were made really traditional. Voting was by means of lining up behind the candidate, so how were the votes rigged?

In that type of voting, before even the Electoral Commission announces the results, one would have already known their stand. If this is so why the dissatisfaction?

On the other hand though, this should be given the benefit of the doubt. NRM elections were very disorganized to point that lives were lost due to too much chaos involved. Anything could have happened during that time.

This the reason why the reconciliation team of the National Resistance Movement has been on its toes trying to get their members back to the party.

The independents are however not that bothered by this because they are going on with their decisions. If the party is not going to give them money, then they have to find means of financing their campaigns.

Those who went through are sorted but we don’t know how much they will be given this time. In 2016, NRM gave her representatives UGShs 20Million to help them.
