We Were Seen As Curse In My Village For Being Teen Mothers – Chosen Becky Narrates

Singer Chosen Becky real name Kwikiriza Rebecca has narrated the hardships they went through for being teen mothers. She said the whole village saw them as cursed and they wouldn’t allow their children to associate with them.

Becky said she got pregnant with her first child at the age of 17. By then, she was still in high school but dropped out because of pregnancy.

The singer said by the time she gave birth, her young sister, a follower was also pregnant and not married. She was at the same time a teenage mother.

The talented singer said when the village people discovered about it, they started speaking badly about them.

The singer’s father is a church pastor but the daughter’s pregnancy affected him so much. People wouldn’t come to pray with him because the daughters were apparently cursed. According to Becky, she was very hopeless at that time and didn’t know what she wanted to do next.

She said her friend had offered to get her a frying pan so that she could start a business of selling chips on the streets.

“All my sisters got pregnant while they were still teenagers and that affected my family so much. We were often seen as cursed and people wouldn’t let their children associate with us. But God is good that I am now seen as an inspiration to the young people,” she said.
