Weasel To Take His Copyright Protest To Parliament

Singer Douglas Mayanja famously known as Weasel from the duo Radio and Weasel has called Police to escort him to Parliament. He will apparently be protesting from City Square to Parliament alongside other willing musicians.

This is in demand for the amendment of the new copyright act.

Recently musicians have been making headlines on social media as they have divided themselves and taken sides on what and who to support.

This came after one of them Eddy Kenzo formed a federation known as Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF). Kenzo said this will help musicians fulfill their dreams.

Eddy Kenzo said the main reason why the federation was formed is to help Musicians earn more from their works. That means working on the copyright law and also the caller tunes which they cheats artistes.

However, some musicians are against Eddy Kenzo, for example Big Eye and others say his intentions are not pure.

These artists have made it clear that Eddy Kenzo is targeting government money which is about to be issued to him.

For Weasel who seems to have no side, he is resorting to protesting. According to his social media post, it is a peaceful protest and he wants the police to even escort him. His issue is also about the copyright law.

“Minister of Enjoyment Will be walking to Parliament Tomorrow from City Square to demand the Amendment of the new Copyright Act. This will be a peaceful protest. I call upon Uganda Police Force To Escort us peacefully,” Weasel posted.
