Zex Bilangilangi found his way to fame in 2019 and wasn’t hesitant to credit Bobi Wine and the Firebase crew for all his successful songs in the media.
He said growing up in the ghettos, he barely found food or something to drink. Even going to school was a tag of war as his mother worked all the time to provide for him.
Instead of pushing through in school knowing he was to drop out any time, he decided to do music. Like any other upcoming artiste, Bilangilangi said it was hard for him to find a studio that would allow him to record for free or for the little he had.
The singer said when Bobi Wine had him sing, he allowed him into Firebase studios to record for free. He said it didn’t stop there, he continued to mentor him and that is why he is lucky.
“I am one of the luckiest artists to be mentored by Bobi Wine. He believes in me and is always showing me the way forward and I am so grateful for everything,” he said.
