It Is Women’s Day, But Are All Women Free Really?

As we celebrate women’s day today, we would want to know why some women are behind curtains. Up to now, there are women who don’t know that they can speak up. Rural areas are proof that there is still a lot to do. Women from these areas believe they are meant to be behind curtains because apparently, that is their place.

A lot of good work has been made in urban areas. Clearly, the ladies in these places have understood. Ladies here have gone to school, they hold good company positions. Ladies have taken over when it comes to urban areas. They can speak up. They can sit at the same table with men and discuss issues.

What the problem is;

The only problem is that women in cities have not taken time to sensitize those in rural areas. No one is telling those ladies to get out of their shells. No one has told them that we are in a different era right now. Those ladies just don’t know the opportunities they have now. It’s so painful that girls in villages are still seen as money-making material through early marriages. Education of a girl child is still a very huge problem.

As we celebrate women, rural areas should be put into consideration. No one can do this best apart from women themselves. Women in power should get out of their seats to help out all women at large. The truth is that there is still a lot of work to do. There is a need to sensitize girls about the need to go to school and build a career for themselves. Collective effort is needed from all of us to bring up others.
