He did this in defense of his boss Bobi Wine who was attacked on social media by YKee Benda. This was for the speech he made at the late Kato Lubwama’s burial.
Bobi Wine was stopped from performing at any music concerts in Uganda ever since he joined politics. But he has been raising his voice on matters concerning musicians.
When the new Federation known as Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) was formed, there was rumor that it is targeting to get money from government.
It’s president Eddy Kenzo was attacked too by different fellow musicians. Others supported him and attended all the meetings he has been calling.
During Kato Lubwama’s burial, Bobi Wine said artists need to come up with strong copyright laws in order not to be beggars.
He said he got rumours that the government intends to give the Federation 30billion shillings. He however, advised musicians not to be used by the government because they are better than that.
Now, different musicians are not happy with his speech and are calling him out. As his personal bodyguard, Eddie Mutwe also came in to defend his boss saying indeed musicians are beggers and they are doing it in a VIP way.
“Ykee,You are one of the intelligent Artites of the young generation that we have today. U can’t be asking the world how beggars need lawyers‼…Even beggars are protected by laws!.. So working with lawyers doesn’t change the fact that u are beggars, only that u are VIP beggars‼,” he tweeted in reply to Ykee Benda.
