Gitta Brian and his developers team built a device called’’ Matibabu ‘’ that tests for malaria without drawing blood. Matibabu is a swahiri word which means Medical Centre.

Matibabu is a cost friendly and a reusable device which clips on to patient’s finger, it’s a no brainer kind of device which doesn’t  require you to be a specialist in order to operate it. The outcome will be shown on your cell phone just within a minute.

Matibabu was developed by Gitta and team!

Gitta was rewarded with a price of £25,000 which is equivalent to over 124 million Ugandan shillings at the award ceremony in Nairobi, Kenya two days ago. The price also includes a special package of support such as Funding, business training and etc. Matibabu is targeting healthcare centres, diagnostics suppliers and individuals.

The developers team is also aiming to setup the Matibabu devices along the streets so that people can perform a single test at a time.

We thank all African brilliant minds with ideas that turned them to be successful entrepreneurs.
