Buganda kingdom started way back as the oral history states and it gives different versions on how the kingdom established like the coming of Kintu, The alternative Version of Kintu’s Son, Kintu the person Vs Kintu the Legend and so many more.

At the beginning Buganda was a small territory with only four counties that include Kyaddondo , Busiro , Busujju , and Mawokota and some parts of Singo and Bulemezi and its neighbouring Kingdom Bunyoro had more territories which resulted into the fighting of the Kingdoms over their expansion until the collapse of the Bunyoro kingdom which led to the increase of the counties to 20, but they were not full governed by the Buganda kingdom until the signing of the 1900 agreement.
Buganda people have an amicable character within them, respect for every one without discrimination in the religion, colour, tribe, or sex and also the good behaviors that they represent throughout their routine living which makes the kingdom popularly known and adorable.
The Buganda people speak the language known as ” Luganda” which also acts as a sub official language in the Kampala city mainly for the local natives within the city.
Buganda kingdom is headed by a king with a local title of “Ssabasajja Kabaka”, it has so far had 36 kings ever since his majesty the late king buried in Nnono Bussujju, Kintu being the first king and his majesty king Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II who is currently the king of the kingdom.
Although the kingdom is demotic and prestigious, it has got worst moments that bring about a lugubrious moments which will remain in the hearts of the Baganda people and they include: The chasing out king Fredrick Walugembe Muteesa II by Obote in 1966 from the kingdom and also the latest sad moment is the burning of the Kasubi tomb into flames on 30th-march- 2010 a burial-place of four kings that had lasted for 128 years but currently it is being rebuilt through a project that is conducted by the prime minister of Buganda kingdom Charles Peter Mayinga known as Etoffali.
Buganda kingdom has its head quarters in Bulange Mengo in Kampala district where officials of the kingdom meet and discuss the development and issues attaching the kingdom.
