10 Acres Of Land To Be Allocated For Boxing Academy – Museveni

President Museveni has directed the Uganda Land Commission to allocate 10 acres of land to house the Armature International Boxing Academy.

The president sent a letter on September 13 to the Uganda Land Commission chairperson Beatrice Nyakaisiki. In it, he said Moses Muhangi from the Uganda Boxing Federation recently appealed to him to allocate the land for constructing the Boxing Academy.

In addition to that, Muhangi said they as a federation, are going to collaborate with the International Boxing Federation on the project. An idea which the President welcomed with open hands.

’Since government has always supported the development of sports, you should identify and allocate at least 10 acres within a radius of 30 miles from Kampala to them,’’ Museveni said.

However, the president asked the Uganda Land Commission to ensure proper clauses are included in the lease agreement.

This will enable the government to repossess the land. Especially if the Boxing federation is unable to develop it in the specified period. He asked them to work with the Ministry of Education and Sports on the matter.

The Uganda Boxing Federation president Moses Muhangi recently said the Armature International Boxing Academy had donated $5 million. This donation happened toward boosting the boxing sport in the country.
