7). Space is a good thing!
The concept of “giving space” to your partner is a cornerstone of your relationship.[12] Being in a relationship with someone does not mean you have to be with them or track their activities 24×7. [2]You both need to have your own life as individuals, complete with a career, your own friends and some alone time. It is healthy and it is important.[5]
8). Hurt is a part of the deal, and pain is a good teacher!
It’s okay to get hurt because there are some lessons you just have to learn…[11] And the hard way is the only way to learn them.[1] It makes you wiser and more practical and helps you see things more clearly. You learn about your own expectations from that feeling and subsequently you feel more sorted in life.[9]
9). Trying to change someone may not be a good idea.
We all have a list a of vices we can do with and the ones we just cannot stand,[10] and they must be kept in mind while choosing a partner. Evolving and making each other better people is a part of the deal in a relationship,[7] but what is not a part is trying to change each other fundamentally. Even if this happens you may end up with a completely different person, whom you may not even feel the same love for.[4]
10). It is better to be single than to be in the wrong relationship.
Wrong doesn’t necessarily mean that either of you are bad people,[2] it may just mean that you are not compatible as partners. At the same time an abusive or a suffocating relationship is never a good idea.[3]
11). Things may not always work out!
Sometimes things just don’t work out and that is completely fine too.[5] Not everything in this world can be explained by logic. You may both be perfectly awesome individuals, yet things may not work out between the two of you just because.[1]
There is nothing wrong with realizing and learning these things in your twenties.[4] It’s all a part of becoming wiser, ladies! So cheer up and smile.[10]
