Today 28th April 2020, ministry of health had recorded 79 confirmed positive cases.
Out of the 79 cases, a total of 47 surprisingly recovered after treatment. They reportedly tested negative twice before they got discharged.
We currently have 18 admitted coronavirus confirmed cases in various hospitals across the country and they are all doing well. two patients at Mulago hospital, one at Kabale Regional referral hospital, nine at Entebbe Grade B hospital, one at Masaka Regional Referral Hospital, four at Arua Regional Referral Hospital and one at Jinja Regional Referral Hospital.

Ministry of health confirmed that on Monday (27th April 2020), all the 2,557 samples tested for the deadly virus were negative. 319 samples were from the communities whereas 2,238 samples were from the cargo truck drivers at border entry points,’said Dr Mwebasa in part of the statement.
Ministry of health also wants to conduct survey which will target a representative population of Uganda including: -Market vendors -Truck drivers and communities along their routes -Border crossing points and their communities -Health workers -Religious leaders -Way bridge areas and communities -Traffic police, Army, LDU.
During this survey, the teams will take a blood sample, nose and throat swab from individuals and test for COVID-19. “We appeal to the communities to cooperate with the teams and provide information. It’s for our own good,’said Jane Ruth Aceng.
This survey intends to estimate the prevalence of COVID-19 among communities in Uganda. Results will be provided on 4 May 2020 and will inform subsequent decisions,’she added.
