22-Year-Old Woman Arrested For Selling Her Baby To Pastor For Shs95k

Residents of Amotekun Corps on Ondo State Nigeria were left in shock after police arrested a 22 year old lady for selling her baby. The lady, identified as Oladayo Seun apparently sold her one day old baby girl to a pastor for N10,000, an equivalent of UGX95,000.

The young lady said she couldn’t manage to take care of her infant. The father of the baby denied her the very day she informed him that she was pregnant.

In her defense, the woman claims she asked the pastor to take her child away. This is because she had no way of taking care of the baby.

“I asked the Pastor to take the baby away and bring N10,000 because I don’t know how I am going to take care of the baby,” she said.

The man of God identified as Olawale but popularly refered to as Eri Aditu says he did what the lady has asked. But then subsequently reported the case to Amotekun, Linda Ikeji’s Blog reports.

The pastor says the lady gave him the baby in a sack. She was apparently desperate to sell her baby.

“I was told to bring N10,000, so that they can give the doctor N5,000 for his job. Because if I did not, another person would come and buy the baby.

“I went to the Amotekun to report the woman. She was handed over to Police at Area Commander Yaba in Ondo West Local Government Area,’ she recalled.
