During the confirmation of coronavirus updates on Friday at Afya House in Kenya’s capital Nairobi, Dr Patrick explained that the healthcare workers either got infected directly from their work places or indirectly.
34 were among the 621 medics whose samples tested positive for coronavirus on Friday. Either from their work places or incidentally, as I remember a certain doctor who went to visit a colleague who was diagnosed with covid-19,’said Dr Patrick.
According to the Director General, the medics now make up about 5.5% of the total number of confirmed cases in Kenya. Despite the positive cases, we haven’t lost any health worker.
Dr Patrick commended all doctors and nurses for their work despite being on a frontline in fighting the deadly virus putting them at risk of getting infected.
