In 2016, people living in slavery hit over 40 million around the world, including 400,000 in United States, according to 2018 Global Slavery Index which was awarded formerly at the United States by a Global organization tackling modern slavery known as Walk Free Foundation.

The United States is also number one importer of products that are probably results of slave labor in other Nations . The Founder of Walk Free Foundation , Forrest Andrew, told reporters that Areas with averagely small number of modern slavery must be performing more and they actually support the existence of slavery.
The statistics on modern slavery contains conditions on forced marriage or forced labor, but doesn’t describe the recruitment of child soldiers or organ trafficking.
During the organizing interviews with over 71,000 people, the researchers from Walk free Foundation calculated cases of slavery right from the countries where they were enslaved rather than their current residence. The estimate was greater in US, Australia, France, United Kingdom, Germany and other European countries compared to the former report.
For instance, in 2014, there was an estimated report of 60,000 people involved In modern slavery in the United States on any particular time and in 2016, the number was 400,000, according to Axios News.

It needs all businesses to publicly reveal what exactly they are doing in order to end the use of slave labor in the businesses they’re operating.
