7-Year-Old Boy Killed In Suspected Ritual Sacrifice In Namisindwa District

Residents of Mango Cell, Lwakhakha Town Council in Namisindwa District have been left with utter shock and grief. This follows the discovery of a 7-year-old boy murdered by cutting over the weekend.

The Elgon regional police spokesperson, SP Taitika Rogers identified the deceased as Sisino Samuel. He said the deceased was a son to Namanuna Ali, a resident of the same area in Namisindwa District. The residents believe the incident happened on Sunday, October 22, at around 8 pm.

SP Taitika said a resident identified as Mujanjami Wamukota reported the shocking revelation to Lwakhakha Police Station. He reported this shortly after he stumbled upon the lifeless body of the juvenile abandoned.

“…The body was lying in a fresh pool of blood with deep cuts at the neck and face,” SP Taitika said.

Preliminary investigations showed that on Sunday, Ali had gone to the nearby trading centre. This prompted the boy to follow him there before the killers ambushed him and inflicted deep wounds on his neck and face.

“..the child left home following the father who had left home for the nearby trading centre to buy some items. It’s believed that the boy found the evil people along the way who stabbed him dead. The motive of the killers has not been established. We’re working tirelessly to apprehend the perpetrators on charges of among others killing the young boy,” SP Taitika added.

He further urged parents to ensure their kids are under maximum care and security before they leave them behind to go do other things.

Following the fateful discovery, they took the body to Mbale City Mortuary for postmortem examination. There after, they handed it to relatives to conduct a proper burial as inquiries into the murder continued.
