Medipal Hospital in Kampala has offered a seven-year-old child from Kotido free surgery. Apparently, the child had a strange illness that had been eating up his head for four full years.
Dr. Adnand Khan, Medipal hospital ’s CEO announced on Monday how they had successfully operated on Lopuriang’s head.
“He was suffering from a chronic wound which had grown big over the years,” Dr.Khan said.
The doctor said his hospital carried out the surgery free of charge as they responded to concerns on social media.
Many people were appealing to well-wishers to help have the child treated before it was too late. Dr. Khan said the boy’s mother will also need psychosocial counseling as a result of stigma from her community.
Emmanuel Lopuriang appeared on social with a strange illness on his head and no one knew what caused it.
His single mother from Kotido district did not know what to do and could also not afford to get her son professional help. She, therefore, appealed to well-wishers to help save her son before she would lose him.
