A 97 year old woman was surprised by president Obama

Vivian Beiley currently 97 years grew up in Oklahoma and she never got a chance to go to a field trip as a child.

Vivian’s dream finally came true on Tuesday when she was granted a field trip accompanied by school children of grade four from her school to the white house where she even physically met president Barack Obama and his vice Joe Baiden.

This was a real surprise because i never expected to meet the president and vice president at the white house during my field trip, it was very awesome and it’s a dream come true, “ Vivian told ABC news.”

After reading a story of Vivian’s initiative of fundraising for an elementary school in Maryland, she was invited by the vice president’s office to take a tour at the white house and this was her first field trip in her life time.

For the past 15 years, Vivian has been raising money to support running Brook Elementary school so as to enable them to take field trips.

Vivian was born in 1918 in Washington, DC, during her childhood, she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she attended segregated schools.

From the year 1942 to 1946, Vivian served in the Woman’ Army Corps in Georgia and Alabama bases during the world war 2 where she became the first Lieutenant in charge of a group of 144 women at Fort Benning, after retiring from the Army, she moved to Chicago and this is where she met her husband.

While in Chicago, Vivian was working as a Veterans Administration and later she worked as a social security officer in 1952, she finally retired in 1975.
