In a recent concert held on January 31st, A Pass made headlines by featuring only female performers, diverging from his usual collaborations with male artistes like Ykee Benda.
The lineup included artists he had previously worked with, such as Likkle Bangi and Lilian Mbabazi, with the all-female group Warafiki as the sole curtain raisers for the night.
This unconventional artistic decision sparked misunderstandings, especially with Ykee Benda, with whom A Pass shares a popular song. Despite their past collaborations, Ykee Benda was notably absent from the concert lineup.
A Pass explained his rationale, stating that he intentionally excluded male performers to showcase a stage dominated by female talent, emphasizing his desire to make a distinct statement as the sole male presence.
Despite the absence of male artists in the show, A Pass expressed gratitude for the support of his peers from the audience.
He highlighted singer Elijah Kitaka’s presence at the event, noting his gesture of purchasing a table even though he did not perform their collaborative track.
A Pass acknowledged the significance of such support, underscoring the value of solidarity within the music community.
