Musician A Pass is continuing his fight against the current flooding of the music scene with ‘vulgar’ songs. He has referred to it as trendy ghetto bubblegum music. The singer a few days ago revealed that there is a need for gatekeeping in the music industry about the songs that receive airplay.
Speaking once again about this issue, the Chupa Ku Chupa singer said that some Ugandans are stupid and simply want this type of music. According to A Pass, the gatekeeping will help media stations play constructive and good songs. He went ahead to say that these trendy vulgar songs can work well on the internet and not media stations. This is because young kids are always seeing such songs. A Pass said that musicians can sing about love but without being so vulgar.
Additionally, he said that these vulgar songs have become a trend because stupid people are many. And when they are left to roam around freely, they become so loud blocking the other ones who have brains. This indecency then becomes a thing. Therefore, those who have the responsibility have to come out and raise their voice against this. The singer further said that musicians who do such types of songs usually don’t last long. After these two good songs, they never progress further.
The singer however said that he can’t blame these singers a lot. This is because the environments they have grown in have a negative influence on them. This is why they sing what they sing because they think it’s normal. He’s, therefore, planning a campaign to go through the different ghettos and speak to these young people about such behaviors.
