Abid Alam Donates 200 Tones To Ministry Of Health

City tycoon Abid Alam has donated 200 tones of sugar to ministry of health as part of the company support to the Corona virus out break on Uganda.

The donation worth 660 million will be distributed to health facilities and health workers managing convid patients at entebbe grade b, Mulago hospital and other regional referral hospitals. Kaliro sugar is subsidiary of Alam group that employs over 1000 people and supports over 5,000 farmers.

The company regularly engages in corporate social responsibility activities such as supporting local schools, local communities, medical camps as well as blood donation drives.

Minister of health Jane Ruth Aceng who received the donation thanked Abid Alam and entire group for support and urged other corporate companies to follow suit.”I which to appreciate and thank Alam group for the support which will enable our staff working in the field.

This will go along way to addressing commodity gaps in the virus pandemic, ”
