Word coming in indicates that veteran entertainment promoter Abitex has now taken over Ray G’s concert as the official organizer. It should be noted that another promoter, Nobat Events had initially been behind the show.
However, this week he started making uncoordinated statements casting the concert into doubt. He said that the Forever singer had gone behind his back and talked to the sponsors. Apparently, it’s him receiving all the funds from MTN leaving Nobat to foot the costs on his own.
Additionally, Nobat Events went ahead to threaten to teach the western Uganda musician an unforgettable lesson. The promoter said that since it was him who booked the venue, he’s going to organize a Christian crusade on the D-day.
Now Abitex seems to have sensed an opportunity and taken over the concert. Taking to Facebook, he said that this concert will go down no matter what.
“The boy from home is here on May 10th 2024 and nothing is going to change. From west to the world. Let’s support our own,” he said.
In the same vein, Ray G also came out to address this saga which threatens his much-anticipated concert. He said that there was just a miscommunication between his team and one of the promoters.
He said that MTN has for a long time supported him and Nobat did not just understand the agreement between them.
However, the singer assured his fans that this concert will go down undeterred on this expected day. Therefore, fans should come and have a great experience without having to worry about anything.
