In a devastating turn of events on Sunday evening, tragedy struck as two students lost their lives in a fatal accident on the Adjumani-Omi road. Another student is currently fighting for his life at Lacor Hospital in Gulu City.

The deceased, identified as Godfrey Ingavure and Emmanuel Adibaku, both Senior Two students at Alere Secondary School in Adjumani District, were returning to school after participating in a ball game competition in Adjumani Town Council.

The tragic collision occurred when the motorcycle they were riding collided with an oncoming vehicle bearing registration number UAQ 497J.

The unfortunate incident adds to a concerning trend in Adjumani District, with a recent police report revealing that 26 individuals have lost their lives, and 71 others have sustained injuries in road traffic accidents over the past eight months.

The report highlights reckless driving, speeding, drunk driving, and disregard for road signs as the primary causes of these tragic occurrences.
