You Have to believe the Abryanz collection CEO Ahumuza Brian really had a rocking 2017.His achievements last year were endless…
Brian Ahumuza won the Creative Arts in Fashion at the Young Achiever’s Awards. He launched a campaign called ‘Fashion Takeover’ where he was teaching youths and various fashion contributors how to earn through fashion.
He organised Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards that were held at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
The fashion Awards up to now, are the biggest Red Carpet Event in Africa. Yet even more amusing, is how they grow bigger and better every other year. This year had celebrated international fashion designers like David Tlale (South Africa,) Mai Ataffo (Nigeria,) Sheria Ngowi (Tanzania), Alecool Landan (UK.) The show also had the best production Uganda has ever seen.

Ahumuza said:
Uganda’s Leading Daily, The New Vision just honored me. And I don’t take it for granted. I was earlier on today named “Personality of the year 2017” by New Vision. This honor hit a place close to home which will explain my recap of events this past year. With success comes people that are always trying to spread negativity, I however choose to turn this negativity into wins and this honor is a testament. The accomplishments of the 2016 ASFA started my whirlwind of successes in 2017 all thanks to God’s glory. Despite this success, I was close to quitting the whole ASFA brand because of the pressure I had to endure on the back end. However, my drive to make an honest reputation out of the African fashion industry pushed me to give it another try. I also had inspiring advise from a friend and Mentor; David Tlale, who gave me validation to believe in myself and the brand I had built. Last year, the ASFA marked five consecutive years in existence. The pressure to pull-off an event worth commemorating five years was intense, but thankfully, a line-up of devoted sponsors/partners supported the event thus making it a success. All thanks go to Ciroc Ultra Premium Vodka; the headline sponsor of the ASFA, Bell Jamz, South African Airlines, Pemba Sports Africa, MAC Cosmetics, KCCA, Capital FM, NTV, Fenon, Golden Tulip hotel, Kampala serena Hotel, Zabil Media, Riley Media, Pink Coconut Decor, Joram Model Management, Gifted Music Group (GMG) , NIB studios, Hair By Zziwa, Ugandan police, Duke Water, Uber Uganda and Muleyi PR. ASFA is not a one man’s show, the team grind as hard as me and I thank them for their efforts and input. The journey of the fashion industry in 2017 has been bigger than life. The commercial success of the industry has been perplexed to proportions people never thought would be associated to fashion. The ASFA last year ran a “Fashion takeover Campaign” that shade a much-needed light on to the business aspect of fashion. Fashion isn’t just a hobby or leisure business, people are actually ripping big from it. 2017 has thankfully been a rewarding year for me. I garnered a win at the 2017 @young Achievers Awards in the “Creative arts in Fashion” category which availed me the opportunity to meet the Nation’s President. Around the corner came the humbling partnership with my brother Ras Kasozi, for the U.S Embassy organization; SEED show, which led to me being a judge at the Kampala Fashion week. Ras and I also ventured to the “Embrace Home Fashion” notion that seeks to encourage Ugandans to support the Ugandan fashion industry by wearing attires made by local designers. If life has taught me anything over the years, it’s that if you know what you want, stay focused and consistent in achieving it you actually achieve it. Don’t move onto new goals without accomplishing those you set in the first place. That’s my advise to all of you.
