Akram Gumisiriza Arrest Confirmed By Police

Kampala Metropolitan police deputy spokesperson Patrick Onyango has confirmed the arrest of Akram Gumisiriza over threatening violence. Akram is popular for being the husband of Hajjat Kulthum Nabuunya the widow to the late Sheikh Nuhu Muzaata.

Word has been making rounds on social media about how Akram Gumisiriza tried to coerce a lady he had given a lift into a sexual relationship. While heading to his home along Salaama road from Munyonyo, Akram met this lady.

He gave her a lift and while in there, they negotiated to have a quick entanglement. But when she asked him for money, he made a U-turn and said that he didn’t have it.

It’s further alleged that he suspected she was recording their conversation. On asking for her phone she refused, he brought out a machete and threatened her.

She ran to Police and filed a case and led officers to Akram’s home. Onyango revealed that both the two made statements.

Eventually, Akram was charged with threatening Violence. He spent a night behind in detention.

“It’s true Akram was arrested and charged with threatening violence. He picked a 31-year-old woman known as Mweza Remy from the road and took her to his home. The place was however dark and he told her to come out of the car. When she refused, he brought out a panga. She ran to Police and we went there and arrested him. He was charged with threatening violence,” Onyango said.

Additionally, it’s not clear where Hajjat Kulthum stands in this matter. She recently gave birth to their first child.

Meanwhile, the Police is said to have advised the two to solve the issue amicably. When she learned who Akram is, she asked for Shs 3m which he failed to pay instantly.
