Al Hilal Denies Reports Linking Neymar With A Return Move To Barcelona

Al Hilal Denies Reports Linking Neymar With Return Move To Barcelona

Saudi Pro League giants, Al Hilal have denied reports linking their star player, Neymar Jr. with a return move to his former club, FC Barcelona. Reports have been making rounds on different platforms suggesting that the Brazilian is open to moving back to La Liga.

It was even suggested that it could happen in this transfer window but Al Hilal has downplayed these reports. They said that this is disrespectful to both the club and the player.

Additionally, the club said that the 33-year-old is under contract and also happy with the league. The footballer’s camp also reiterated the same statement.

“The articles on Ney’s return to Barça from Al Hilal are LIES and tremendous disrespect for Al Hilal and the athlete. Neymar is under contract with Al Hilal and he’s happy in Riyadh. Soon he returns to the pitch to delight the fans.”

It should be noted that Neymar first played in Europe for Barcelona after leaving his boyhood club Santos in 2013.

He was one of the most important players for the club as he formed a dynamic duo with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez dubbed the MSN. However, he joined PSG in 2017 in a shocking world record transfer deal which remains the highest till now.

His time in Paris came with many highs and lows. And eventually, he departed for the Middle East at the end of the 2022-23 season.

His time at Al Hilal hasn’t been easy either as he suffered a season-ending injury last year in September while on international duty with Brazil.

He ended up missing the Copa America and the Summer Olympics. He’s expected back on the pitch as he has been undergoing rehabilitation for a couple of months now.
