Me And Ssegirinya Are Innocent – Hon Allan Ssewanyana Speaks About Hanging Murder Cases

Makindye West Member of Parliament Allan Ssewanyana is still fighting for his innocence alongside his fellow politician Kawempe North member of parliament Hon Ssegirinya Muhammad. The two were accused of several murders that took place in Masaka district in 2021.

They were incarcerated for two years in prison. Their political party NUP fought hard for then to get bail until earlier this year.

According to the politician, the two years he spent in prison are the worst years of his life. He didn’t have access to his children and wife. He even lost his grandmother and they didn’t let him know until after two months.

Allan Ssewanyana claims that Ugandans know and believe that they are innocent although they haven’t proved it in court. They are still fighting for their innocence hoping that everything will be resolved and these cases will be taken off their names.

“Bannayuganda bakimanyi nti nze ne muganda wange Ssegirinya batuwayiriza mu bukyamu. Era n’okutuusa kati tukyalwanagana n’omusango mu kkooti. Twamala mu kkomera emyaka ebiri. Era kye nsobola okwogera kiri nti omuntu akwagaliza ekkomera alinga oyo akwagaliza okufa,” he said.

It should be noted that for Hon Muhammad Ssegirinya, ever since he got bail, he has been in and out of hospital. He even almost lost his life due to sickness that he said he acquired while incarcerated.
