LeBron James sat out the whole third and fourth quarter as his chosen team escaped with the ‘’W’’ in Atlanta. They won the first three quarters taking a 146-125 lead over Team Durant in the fourth quarter.
They played using the same format as the last all-star game in 2020 of a target score in memory of Kobe Bryant. The target score was set to 170 points.
It didn’t take very long to reach the score as Team LeBron sealed the 170-150 win.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo won All-Star Game MVP and also led the way for LeBron’s team. The two-time reigning league MVP went for a perfect 16-for-16 from the field to score 35 points. The Greek Freak became the first player in All-Star history to shoot 100% from the field on 10+ attempts.
LeBron James played less than 13 minutes in the game and chose to rely on his sharpshooting teammates. Hot from winning the three-point contest, Stephen Curry hit eight three-pointers to score 28 points.
Damian Lillard who also hit eight from deep added 32 points coming from the bench, including the game-winner.
For team Durant, Washington Wizard’s Bradley Beal led the scoring board with 26 points. Kyrie Irving added 26 points while James Harden scored 21 points off the bench.
LeBron James is now 4-0 since the NBA adopted the new All-Star format. The 36-year-old has nailed his picks four years running.
