The Ugandan educator and politician who serves as a woman Member of Parliament for Kiryandongo Constituency under NRM party Hon Helen Kahunde did not test positive for COVID-19 the way many people including media had declared.
Hon Helen further said that her test results are not yet out publicly. She claims that she tested for Covid-19 on Tuesday and all reports claiming to have seen positive result are just seeking for public attention.
Yesterday, media houses claimed that the MP tested positive for the deadly virus which left the entire house in shock opening a session to start testing all MPs and other members in Parliament.
Effective today Thursday 16th July 2020, all legislators and staff of Parliament will start testing for COVID-19.
However, Hon Helen Kahunde admits that she did test for COVID-19 but she has not yet received the results up to now.
“My temperature is normal, no headache and that she’s generally doing well; except for the overwhelming phone calls I’m getting due to the posts about my being positive of COVID-19.” She said.
This was indeed a good exercise for her sake and it acted a good example to many people around the country.
