American Actress Gabrielle Union Joins Long Lost Of Celebrities Leaving Social Media Platform X

American actress Gabrielle Union has joined a long list of celebrities and other notable figures leaving X. Taking to her official page which has about 4.2 million followers, she said that she has reached a point where enough is enough for her.

Additionally, she said that platforms such as X were founded to promote the harmonious coexistence of people. However, the recent change in terms and conditions has limited these positive engagements.

She therefore finds herself at a crossroads of no longer being able to be on a platform that she doesn’t agree with. She revealed that she will deactivate her account but her followers can connect with her on other social media platforms.

“There are pivotal moments in life when we must declare that enough is enough and for me, today is that day.

Platforms like X were founded on authentic connections, true engagement, and creative expression, all anchored in respect for user privacy and trust. Yet, with the recent and upcoming changes to the terms of service and the return of volatile figures-I find myself at a crossroads, facing a direction I can no longer fully support. I am committed to engaging in spaces that truly value inclusivity, respect, and integrity in the digital world. Sometimes, that means recognizing the last straw and knowing when to step away.

To everyone I’ve connected with here, thank you for the laughs, the insights, and the endless support. I am not disappearing completely!

What to note.

She’s not the first celebrity to exit the platform, as there have been several others including organizations. They accuse the platform of turning into a Conservative propagandist machine ever since Elon Musk bought it and used it to get Donald Trump elected.

It should however be noted that platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Google and others have been left-leaning all along. Conservative voices have been censored to the extent that they even banned people like Donald Trump among others.

X on the other hand came to equalize discourse for everyone. It’s the only platform where both conservatives and liberals with share their ideas without being censored. It however appears that some liberals cannot tolerate others.
